About Anna Broinowski
Anna Broinowski is an international award-winning filmmaker and author. Her documentaries include Pauline Hanson: Please Explain! (2016), Aim High in Creation! (2013), and Forbidden Lie$ (2008). These have received many festival screenings and awards, including Best Film at Silverdocs USA, the Al Jazeera Golden Award,a Russian Film Critics’ Prize, The NSW Premier’s Literary Award, the Writer’s Guild of America (East and West) Best Nonfiction Screenplay, and three Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts awards. Anna’s book about North Korean propaganda cinema, The Director is the Commander (2015), was shortlisted for an Adelaide Festival Literature Award, winning the Alex Buzo shortlist prize. The US edition Aim High in Creation! is out with Arcade in 2016.
