About Todd Miller

Todd Miller is an American journalist who has written about
border issues for more than 15 years (in the last 8 as an
independent journalist) and is the author of a weekly post for
The Border Chronicle. Miller’s work has appeared in many
publications: the New York Times, TomDispatch, The Nation, San
Francisco Chronicle, Al Jazeera English, and more. Moreover,
Miller is the author of four books centered around the issues of
border patrol, border security, and related issues. He has
authored: Build Bridges, Not Walls: A Journey to a World without
Borders (City Lights, 2021); Empire of Borders: The Expansion of
the U.S. Border Around the World (Verso, 2019); Storming the
Wall: Climate Change, Migration, and Homeland Security (City
Lights, 2017); and Border Patrol Nation: Dispatches from the
Front Lines of Homeland Security (City Lights, 2014). Miller is
also a contributing editor on border and immigration issues for
the NACLA Report on the Americas and its column entitled
“Border Wars”. These works have played an important role in
shaping and informing debates regarding border policy in
today’s world.
