Dr. Kim’s clinical research is focused on mechanisms of treatment resistance, specifically immunosuppressive factors produced by prostate cancer cells. He continues to look at the role surgery plays in men with advanced or metastatic cancer and also is particularly passionate about why treatment outcomes differ from one individual to the next. He’s interested in advocating more on the impact social determinants of health has with respect to mortality rates among various groups.
