Meg Urry Ph.D.

Israel Munson Professor of Physics and Astronomy

Expertise:

Black holes, galaxies, astronomy, women in science

Description:

My group has studied the growth of super-massive black holes at the centers of galaxies over the past 12 billion years, using space telescopes (Hubble, Chandra, Spitzer, XMM-Newton, Fermi) as well as ground-based telescopes to study their emission at radio, infrared, optical and X-ray wavelengths.

I have also worked to increase the participation of women and other under-represented groups in science.
