Health care quality, patient centered care, health care organizations
I develop surveys that assess patient care experiences. I use such data to evaluate health care quality and evaluate relationships among clinician and organizational characteristics and care quality. I have studied how organizational characteristics affect the quality of care and conducted a national evaluation of a quality improvement initiative in HIV clinics. I am principal investigator of one of the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare providers and Systems (CAHPS) projects that develops patient experience surveys and am Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA).
