Dr. Khan is an NIH-funded, well published, surgeon-scientist who seeks to use modern molecular biology to improve our understanding and treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers. The Khan Lab performs basic scientific investigation and translational research in order to advance the field of oncology. The lab studies the genetic basis of metastasis, in addition to the relationship between sex hormones, metabolite and protein expression in GI cancers. It also performs clinical outcomes research in surgery for gastrointestinal
cancers.
