Description: 

I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Emergency Medicine, and joined the Yale Emergency Medicine faculty in 1989. I hold several positions of leadership in the Fire Service and Emergency Medical Services communities. I am a principal member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committee on Occupational Safety and health, and chair the NFPA 1582 Task Group. I also serve on the Board of Visitors for the National Fire Academy and the Medical Advisory Board of the International Association of Firefighters’ John P. Redmond Foundation; and I conduct on-site investigations of firefighter line-of-duty deaths for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
