I work on the regulatory and standard-setting processes around laboratory testing for patient care. The clinical laboratory is largely responsible for translating scientific advances into the ability to diagnose patients more quickly and accurately, and to personalize new treatments. Making these new methods reliable clinical tools is the job of the clinical laboratory, and through my work in the local labs, and with national bodies, I am involved in the process of taking research and turning it into clinical tools.
