Yale Statement Makers

Are you interested in learning how to write a compelling op-ed or the most effective ways to present your research to the media? Join the Media Relations team from the Office of Public Affairs & Communications (OPAC) on Friday, April 8, for the 2022 Yale Statement Makers program. This virtual one-day workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will provide Yale faculty with tools to improve article and op-ed writing for mainstream media outlets, as well as media training.

Teresa Tritch, former editorial board editor at The New York Times, will lead an op-ed writing presentation; Gregg Gonsalves, a Yale epidemiologist and global health activist, will provide tips on effective op-ed writing; and OPAC’s Media Relations team will introduce participants to on-camera media training.

As a faculty participant, you will have the opportunity to connect with peers from across the university, gain confidence in your written and verbal presentation skills, and receive media training that will help you communicate your expertise more effectively to large audiences across mainstream media platforms.

The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, March 10. We will notify you by Friday, March 11, if you have been selected to participate in this year’s program.
