About Eric Aeschimann
As a senior reporter for the Nouvel Observateur, France’s leading general interest weekly (circulation: 450,000 issues a week), I’ve covered literature and philosophy in the magazine’s book section since 2001. Previously, I worked for 20 years at the daily newspaper Libération, where I was in charge of op-eds for two years, and headed the book review section for four years. My books include a novel, Dieu n’existe pas encore [God doesn’t exist yet, 2008) and a nonfiction book about the history of Libération, Libération et ses fantômes (Liberation and Its Ghosts, 2007). My academic background includes undergraduate degrees in modern literature, linguistics, and philosophy, and a diploma from the Paris journalism school Centre de formation des journalistes, (class of 1987).
