About Kira Vinke

Kira Vinke is an author and analyst of the human dimensions of climate change. She has written three books, numerous articles and opinion pieces and regularly publishes in the German Foreign Policy Magazine Internationale Politik. Vinke is a sought-after commentator on climate foreign policy and on the nexus of climate change and security. At the German Council on Foreign Relations she heads the center for climate and foreign policy. She provided her expertise as a consultant for the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Asian Development Bank. She has extensive field research experience in South Asia, the Pacific, and the Sahel. Vinke studied in Honolulu, Tokyo, Madrid, Berlin, and New Delhi.
