About Larry Fink

Larry Fink is an internationally-known fine art and editorial photographer. He won two Guggenheims, two National Endowment of the Arts, has had shows at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney, and countless other institutions. Fink, in his words, was born to photograph, he was not born to serve photography. He was born to have photography serve him and hopefully to serve the world. He had no schooling, he’s been to jail, he’s taught at Yale. He has been teaching for 45 years, presently a professor at Bard College. His prime interest has something to do with sensual empathy, equally prime, but sub prime, is the way that the eye is choreographed within in the frame. His pictures are equally informed by music, painting, farm work, bodily functions, and critical love.
