About Laura Shapiro

For 16 years, Laura Shapiro was a columnist at Newsweek; she has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, Gourmet, Gastronomica, and Slate. Shapiro is the award-winning author of Perfection Salad: Women and Cooking at the Turn of the Century, Something from the Oven: Reinventing Dinner in 1950s America, and Julia Child. She co-curated the current New York Public Library exhibition called Lunch Hour NYC.
