About Margo Jefferson
Margo Jefferson joined the New York Times as a critic on the culture desk in 1993, served as Sunday theater critic beginning in 1995, and since 1996 has been the critic-at-large, covering theater.
Prior to joining The Times, Ms. Jefferson was a lecturer at Columbia University teaching American literature, performing arts criticism, writing and English. Preceding that appointment she was assistant professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at New York University where she taught critical writing and features.
