About Mujib Mashal
Mujib Mashal tells stories about the realities of life in Afghanistan today and the challenges of extremism in South Asia. His explanatory and investigative features on Afghanistan have appeared in The Atlantic, Harper’s, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Al Jazeera English, Newsweek - The Daily Beast, The Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting and other international outlets. Previously, he has worked for Al Jazeera English in Doha and The New York Times in Kabul. He was a Kluge Scholar at Columbia College, where he studied South Asian History. Last summer, Mashal authored the Atlantic piece “After Karzai,” an exit interview with Afghanistan’s mercurial outgoing president.
