About Prashant Jha

Prashant Jha is a journalist and author. He has written Battles of The New Republic: A Contemporary History of Nepal – a deeply personal, reportage-based account of war and peace in his country. The book documents the rise of identity politics, the constitutional process, and India’s engagement in the country. He is currently an associate editor of Hindustan Times in New Delhi, where he writes on domestic Indian politics and regional policy. He has written for a range of international publications, including the New Yorker. Jha has also been the Kathmandu correspondent for The Hindu, an editor with Himal Southasian magazine, a political columnist with The Kathmandu Post, and an analyst with the International Crisis Group.
