About Richard Preston

Richard Preston is the author of seven books including The Hot Zone and The Wild Trees. After receiving a Ph.D. in English at Princeton in 1983 he became a regular contributor to The New Yorker. Preston’s books have been translated into more than 30 languages, and he has won numerous awards, including the American Institute of Physics Award and the National Magazine Award. Preston is also the only person who isn’t a medical doctor ever to receive the Centers for Disease Control’s Champion of Prevention Award for public health.
