About Samantha Grant

Samantha Grant is a doc filmmaker, journalist & educator who tells thought-provoking, character-driven stories rooted in journalism. Through her company GUSH productions, Sam creates content for clients including MTV, ABC, PBS, CNN, NPR, FRONTLINE, FRONTLINE/World, and Al Jazeera International. In 2013, Sam released A Fragile Trust, about the Jayson Blair plagiarism scandal, alongside the journalism ethics game DECISIONS ON DEADLINE. Currently Sam is directing GIRLS IN THE FOREST, a feature doc about a school in Paraguay. When she’s not shooting or producing indie docs, Sam lectures at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and Stanford’s Knight Fellowship program.
