About Somini Sengupta

Somini Sengupta, the international climate reporter and anchor of the
Climate Forward Newsletter for The New York Times, tells the stories of people most vulnerable to the effects of climate change. A George Polk Award-winning international correspondent, she has reported from 50 countries, including 10 conflict zones. Her book, The End of Karma: Hope and Fury Among India’s Young, was published in 2016 by W.W. Norton. She grew up in India, Canada, and the United States, and graduated from
the University of California at Berkeley.
