About Steven Brill
Steven Brill, chairman and CEO of Brill’s Content, is also the founder of The American Lawyer magazine and Court TV. He began his journalism career as a contributor to Harper’s and New York magazines. He became a columnist for Esquire, and wrote “The Teamsters,” a national bestseller. He has established a reputation as a publisher committed to exposing hypocrisy in journalism. He has run corrections as front-page stories, and often required reporters to “call 40 sources if necessary to nail down a fact.”
Brill’s commitment to journalistic integrity has paid dividends. American Lawyer magazine won the National Magazine Award twice, once for general excellence and once for Brill’s own “Headnotes” column. Brill, a native of Queens, New York, attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School.
