About Teju Cole
Teju Cole is a novelist, essayist, and photographer. His honors include the PEN/Hemingway Award for Fiction, the Windham-Campbell Prize for Fiction from Yale University, the Achebe Fellowship from Bard College, the Internationaler Literaturpreis, the Rosenthal Award of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Guggenheim Fellowship. He has been shortlisted for the Paris Photo/Aperture Photobook Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award, among others. His photography has been exhibited worldwide and is in several institutional collections. He will deliver the Randy L. and Melvin R. Berlin Family Lectures at the University of Chicago in the spring of 2019. He is currently the Photography Critic of the New York Times Magazine and Gore Vidal Professor of the Practice of Creative Writing at Harvard University.
