About Theresa Brown

Prior to becoming a nurse, Theresa Brown obtained a PhD in English from the University of Chicago and taught literature for three years at Tufts University. After deciding to pursue a second career, she received her BSN from the University of Pittsburgh. She is author of CRITICAL CARE: A New Nurse Faces Death, Life, and Everything in Between (May 2011; trade paperback), and is a regular contributor to the New York Times blog “Well” and CNN.com.
