About Ben Mauk
Ben Mauk lives in Berlin. He writes for The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, and Harper’s, among other publications. In 2020, he co-developed and wrote an immersive 360 V.R. documentary for The New Yorker on life inside a Chinese detention camp. For his coverage of the persecution of minorities in Xinjiang, he has won the Reporting Award from NYU, two Online Journalism Awards, jury prizes from SXSW and NewImages Festival, and the inaugural Jamal Khashoggi Award for Courageous Journalism.
